CrazzZZy DizzZZy

I had an appointment today at 11am, but I could not make it due to me feeling like I had 50 cups of coffee and some serious drugs =/ I re-scheduled for Monday (05/24)

I talked to the nurse who was the middle person between Dr. Tal and I... you know "she said, he said" back in forth instead of me directly talking with the doctor. Any-whom, that's not important... what is important is that blood pressure did not play a roll to the reason why I was feeling dizzy. Not quite sure why I felt like that, although I like to believe it's because Ryan didn't bring me my cereal fast enough ;) Only a couple more weeks of enjoying being waited on. Hey, doctor said so! The nurse (the doctor) explained some things to me, and I was to still keep an eye on my blood pressure and call if it were to rise. Thanks to my grandparents they managed to find a blood pressure taker thingy-ma-jigger that I could borrow to keep track. So far so good =)

SAVE THE DATE!!!

Ryan and I went to our follow up appointment Tuesday and got great news all around!!
1.) Kylie is healthy and from the ultrasound and test results from the hospital, everything is as it should be!
2.) My blood pressure was PERFECT!!
and..........
3.) JUNE 9 we will be holding our little girl! =)

The doctor decided to go ahead and plan for me to be induced due to my blood pressure problem, which is okay with me sense I am one to plan EVERYTHING! Plus, that took an extra 10 days off of her original due date and she will be nice, healthy, plumped, and ready to come out!

We are so excited and cannot wait to have her in our arms!! I would love to post a picture of the ultrasound but we didn't get any :( Kylie's head is too far down - the tech couldn't get a peek at her face, which is going to make it all the more exciting to finally be able to see her face!

Dr appointment gone wrong :(

On Friday, May 14, Ryan and I headed out to go to our weekly doctors appointment. I woke up feeling fine and great and was ready to start off the day. We get to the doctors office, they take my blood pressure, and the nurse says "okay it's a bit high (148/1-hundred something), I need you to lie on your left side for a couple of minutes and I"ll be back to check on you. Keep in mind that for a pregnant woman they want your blood pressure to be no higher than 140/80. Eek! This scared me. Ryan thought maybe it was high because we were running late and were rushing to get in, but after lying on my side for 10 minutes it still hadn't gone down when the nurse checked it again. Uh-Oh! So then the Doctor came in and took Kylie's blood pressure and listened to heart rate and she was just as healthy as could be. He then told us that he wanted to admit me to the hospital so I could be monitored and if it did not go down then he was going to have to deliver the baby! WHAT?! Not only was it unexpected, but it was a Friday and Ryan had work that night and was planning on having a busy weekend at the bar. With shows and parties booked with only him and another bartender able to work, what was he going to do? He called everyone and prayed that one of them would be able to pick it up... nope it was graduation weekend!!! We were both freaking out, but calmed down once my mom and dad were willing to do whatever it took to help us out. We didn't rush into thoughts (she would be born today) until we went to the hospital to see what they would say and to see if I got any better. Thankfully I did, and Ryan was relieved... yes of course he would ditch the bar in a heart beat if I were to deliver or needed him, but physically I felt fine and was in great hands with a lower blood pressure. Ryan went to work and I was accompanied by my parents until he was able to come back. Him and I both didn't get much sleep as we had nurses coming in and out every four hours to check my IV's and to listen to Kylie's heart beat and to take my blood pressure. Everything was going great. The next morning we saw our Doctor, and he told us my blood pressure was right on the edge of being okay and wanted to keep me in another night =/ Of course I'll do anything for my health and Kylie's, but they want me to rest and I can't even sleep! I then got use to it and talked to my nurse and told her I was going to sleep and to do whatever she had to do, and to wake me up if she needed me. No problem. Ryan and I got a lot of sleep after that! We woke up and I ordered "room service" lunch, a cheeseburger and fries- can't go wrong with that. EW! It was disgusting, and I'm not a picky eater at all. Hours passed and everything seemed to be going well. Ryan suprised me and told me he got someone to work for him and he could be my entertainer for the night! I was so relieved to hear that because just then I was thinking "Oh my gosh, what am I going to do tonight". The nurse told us I could take a walk on the floor and visit the nursery to keep my sanity! Yeah... we took lots of those walks and I loved seeing the babies!! Ryan went to get us dinner from Spring Creek bar-b-que sense I was not about to eat hospital food again, and afterward he crawled into the bed with me and we watched Season 4 of The Office until I passed out! Next morning we had our fingers crossed when the Doctor came in, and he told us we could go home but I was on strict orders to do NOTHING! ha! not a problem! "let daddy make you dinner" was his exact words if I remembered correctly ;) Ryan went by the pharmacy and grocery store and got everything ready for me, and then came home and immediately packed our hospital bag and cleaned the house sense we got a big reality check that she could come at ANY TIME! Ohhh it was so nice to lay in my own bed in my own CLEAN house and eat my own GOOD food! Well I hope this long post has given everyone the information that I've been asked =) Kylie and I are going to rest up and get some sleep now!

yucky!!

A perfect Mothers Day

As I was sitting on the floor in Kylie's room putting her baby shower presents away, Ryan walked in with a James Avery bag, a COOKIE CAKE, and told me about our reservations for brunch at Pesce! A Mothers Day to never be forgotten :) I love you Ryan!

What was in the James Avery bag? A charm bracelet with charms of a 'K' and little girl shoes :) I said "Thank You" to Ryan about 20 times and told him how much I loved it, and just as I thought the moment couldn't be any sweeter he added "yeah I thought for every Mothers Day, Kylie and I could start a tradition by getting you a charm"! I could not stop smiling. I love him so much! We then sat in the middle of Kylie's bedroom floor and dug into that cookie cake (before I could take a decent picture of it)!! It was so good, just as I remembered it being when I was little at my b-day parties!

Mushy enough? Yeah I know, but I can't help it!

BRUNCH!! Pesce was brought about because one of bartenders, Mike aka Chef Mike, works there... as a chef =) I later learned that him and Ryan had planned this in weeks advance and Mike made the reservations for us! Thank you Mike!!! We got there and were seated instantly, everyone greeted us with smiles and were so nice. We sat down and scoped out the place and I then pointed out every pretty thing I saw in the restaurant to Ryan. Our waiter came and asked what we'd like to drink and I of course said "water" - he caught me totally off guard when he asked "what type of water would you like?".. ummm there's type of water? I guess I had that thought all over my face as he said "like sparkling, regular, tap".. well sparkling sounded nice and pleasant so I said "SPARKLING please". We then had the head hostess come over and say "Mike would like y'all to sit at the marble bar, do you mind moving" - "uh yeah lady are seats are fine"...HECK NO, Ryan and I jumped up immediately and sat down at the nice marble bar where Chef Mike came over and introduced us to the head Chef (he's kind of a big deal). I felt like royalty! Mike ordered all of our food for us and it was DELICIOUS!! The pictures below are of the two appetizers, my main dish, and our dessert! I could not tell you what it was because I honestly do not know. When they explained to us what was in our dishes it sounded like gibberish to me! I had such a great time at Pesce and enjoyed it very much! I think we set our destination for every Mothers Day =) Like my mom always tells me "I've hit the husband lottery"!

I can't wait to spend the next Mothers Day to come with just the three of us!

Baby Shower Fun!

First of all I'd like to give out a big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in planning my baby showers and to everyone who could make it to celebrate Kylie Marie's arrival! My first baby shower was at my wonderful Aunt Pam's house where everything was BEAUTIFULLY decorated with the help of my cousin Jenny! What caught my eye the most was when I turned the corner and saw this amazing butterfly made out of cup cakes - they were mighty yummy too! I almost didn't make it to this one as I got up that morning I had a very bad stomach ache, but once I got there and ate a cupcake I magically felt better =)

My next baby shower was hosted by The Evans and The Robinson ladies! This time when I woke up I felt great and was ready to party. hee-hee! My mom and I drove together in my new car =) and arrived on time (imagine that). There were lots and lots of cookies and tasty treats! Amber texted me the week before and asked what kind of food I wanted at the shower and I responded "cookies and tea" - and there were plenty of cookies and tea! After I was nice and plump-er we played a game where everyone had to cut a piece of ribbon the length that they thought would fit best around my tummy. I guess I look really really big because everyone's string was WAY too big! Thanks guys ;) Shannon and I were the closest- I am well aware on how big my stomach is!! We then played a game where you had 2 minutes to write down a list of baby items (crib, bottles, messy diapers, etc.) as fast as you could and when the time was up who ever had the most items won a prize. I WON!! My gift was a bath and body works gift set which is now packed in my hospital bag. SCORE! I also got more diapers then I ever imagined having, but after watching the child care videos it looks like those were a weeks worth!

And then, Ryan and I had a mini baby shower with Mackenzie and Jason! The boys grilled as Mackenzie and I sat on the couch and had pregnancy talk. It was so nice to finally be around someone who knew what I was going through!  We exchanged gifts, and as you can see in the picture below, Mack made us a "K" to hang on Kylie's bedroom door =) I love it! We cannot wait to have more days like this one - where Addison and Kylie can play while Mack and I talk, and while the boys grill! It was a very nice evening and Ryan and I enjoyed having them over very much!

Everyone had such a blast at both showers and I"m truly blessed to have such a wonderful family and group of friends. Thank you everyone who made the two days special for me and I love everyone of you so much! I hope it's as amazing for the next one's to come as it was for the first one - haha no I'm not thinking of that right now!

This was my awesome 'diaper cake' Dixie made me!! I still haven't taken it apart =)

NEVER go to Rio Rio on the River Walk, but DO go to Gruene Texas!

On March 22, my family from Missouri (Dad's side) and I ate at THE most disgusting place ever called Rio Rio. It was around lunch time as we were walking down the river walk in San Antonio and took a vote on what to eat and majority ruled in favor of Mexican food. San Antonio... Mexican food... can't go wrong, right? WRONG!!! Ugh it was the nastiest food ever. NOT ONLY was the food nasty, but the smell of the restraunt itself was as if a sewer plant pipe busted right next to us. Every place was packed on the river walk and we had a group of about 16 people, so when we came across this restraunt... no body was there so we decided to try it out. Now we know why NO ONE was there. Pure grossness! All I wanted was a virgin pina colada and some quesadillas, and it turned out I had a water that tasted like straight up river water, and some dry chicken, no flavor quesadillas! I'm done venting now...on to the fun part about the trip!

After eating lunch, Ryan E, Ryan M (brother) and I continued to walk down the river walk and check out things and they wanted to find a cool little pub to hang out and have a few drinks so I tagged along. We stopped at a place called Dirty Nelly's Pub and inside they had a funny piano man with a big fan club. They got there drinks and we sat outside so I could continue to take pictures of random things while they had there beer tasting. After Rio Rio, it was very nice being somewhere with a nice waiter and friendly staff!! As the drinking went on and I had now a sun burning my forehead I asked if we could go somewhere else and they chugged there beers and closed there tabs. As we were walking out my brother says "OH YEAH YOU CAN DRINK WHILE WALKING ON THE RIVER WALK". At first I'm like "YES! they can drink and I can walk and go into shops...perfect". We asked a local where people were getting the beers and he told us the liqour store down town and gave us directions. So we went on and walked to the liqour store and they got there tall boys and dirty looks from old women on the River Walk and 5 min later (being preggo), I asked if we could go back to the hotel because my feet were killing me. Luckily our hotel had a rooftop pool where we all hung out until dinner where we ate at Salt Grass.... on the River Walk (we weren't taking chances again and we were hunnnnn-gry)! After dinner we went on a boat ride at night down the river which was very pretty and romantic pahahaha... specially with my dad thinking it was funny to wave like he had problems at everyone we passed.... ahhhh the Martins.

Side Note: The hotel we all stayed at was called the Drury Inn and the building use to be bank where my grand parents worked and first met, on the 5th floor we later found out from my grandpa! Cool huh?

Next day was my absolute fav! We went and ate at Lu Lu's Cafe. My mom and Ryan E were watching Man vs Food on the food network channel (don't know where I was) and witnessed the guy eating a GIGNATIC CINNAMON ROLL and eating a chicken fried steak with queso on it at a place called Lu Lu's in San Antonio. Sooo of course we had to check it out. O-M-G... heart attack waiting to happen! Ryan ordered the chicken fried steak and we all split a 3 pound cinnamon roll. Might I add we did NOT finish the whole thing between all of us.. but it was VERY good. After Lu Lu's and resting at the hotel for an hour (haha) we went to Gruene Texas! It was soooo nice to drive out into the country on a beautiful day with perfect weather! There was a wine tasting going on under a big oak tree, little shops in old timey buildings, it was just the cutest little town. We visited Gruene Hall which is known to be Texas oldest dance hall and everyone who is someone (big) in Country has played there. The floors felt like they were about to cave in! We then had lunch at the Gristmill, which is welllll... an old gristmill that they turned into a restraunt and it has 4 levels to it leading down the side of a hill to the river. It was the prettiest, coolest place I've ever eatin at! The Ryans and I got to talking and decided to take a trip up there and see soemone play at Gruene Hall sometime in December where it's cool outside and they have all there Christmas lights up. Anyways... that about sums up our trip we had that weekend and overall it was VERY nice to get out of town and see new environments and relax with the family. I also loved using my new camera and taking lots-n-lots of pictures. So, here are some of the pictures of what I talked about in this long entry =)

KYLIE MARIE EASTMAN

Ryan and I got up Tuesday morning and headed to the doctors' office at 9:40am. We were really early and sitting there anxiously waiting to be called, along with about 10 other patients. Finally, our name was called and we walked back into the room where I would be having my ultrasound. the lady squirted hot gooey stuff on my stomach and started the ultrasound. The first site of Peanut was with her legs touching her forehead and her arms waving all around. With the nurses comments, I started laughing and Peanut flipped over, strethched out her legs and started punching and kicking the invisible punching bag infront of her. It was very cool to see and feel exactly what she was doing. Every ultrasound we have seen of her she is constantly moving around VERY FAST! The technician lady was trying for about 10 minutes to get pictures of all the organs and blood flow to make sure everything was going well. She would not be still for even a second to let any of this happen. The nurse finally had to poke my stomach and guess where she would go next to zap a picture. It was too funny for Ryan and I. I was a little worried that she was too active and we would not be able to know the sex of Peanut....untill the technician lady asked if we kind of had an idea or feeling what it was going to be. Ryan and I both said "a girl". She said
"well congratulations mom and dad, you will have a daughter... and she will be a hand full"!!
I felt so happy, excited, anxious, and relieved to know that "it and peanut" was a girl. After getting our ultrasound pictures we had to go back into the waiting room and wait to be called to go in and see the doctor. With other patients in the room, Ryan and I really couldnt hug and jump up and down and talk about the exciting news we just got. Ryan sent me a text message that said "Kylie", and I looked at him and we both smiled and knew that was going to be the name of our little girl. After visiting with the Dr. he was very happy for both of us and said everything is going as it should and to come back in three weeks. We then left to head over to my parents to show them the pictures and tell them the news. They were so excited and loved the name we had picked out. Now I get texts from both of them making baby jokes to me and telling me how I was when I was a baby. My mom is the most excited and has been sending Ryan and I both picture texts of me as a little girl, and has already picked out her grandma name. Now knowing that Kylie is on her way, I have gathered up some of my baby stuff (blanket, cup, pillow, teddy bear) to put in her room. I am so excited now to register and pick out room furniture and get everything set up for Kylie. I find myself passing by her room and opening the door and smiling and immagining a little girl crawling around playing with her toys and it makes me SO happy! I cannot wait to hold her and neither can Ryan.

Here is her ultrasound pictures from the appointment. The top one you can really see the outline of her face! :) The second picture, you can see her feet above her head!!! These pictures were takin in less than 5 seconds... she's an active little one!
